The 31-year-old attacking midfielder was today nominated for the United States-based Jefferson Award for Outstanding Public Service by an Athlete for his work with Nothing But Nets, an initiative to distribute bed nets throughout Africa to limit the spread of malaria carried by mosquitoes.
