On Thursday, the UN Foundation hosted a table of faith leaders at a dinner during the leadership forum of the National Association of Evangelicals. The key note speaker was Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon of the United Nations. In his speech, he focused on the Millennium Development Goals and the role of Faith groups in successfully achieving those goals. I was moved by the Secretary-General's apparent worry that most of the countries in Sub Saharan Africa were not at the half-way mark to achieving those goals. He highlighted malaria and said, "It is intolerable that children die of malaria. It is a moral scar on our conscience."
