Nothing But Nets featured on Good Morning America, in Real Simple

October 16 2009

This morning started off with a bang for Nothing But Nets as we got wind of two awesome shoutouts for the campaign – what a way to start the weekend!

Just in time for tonight’s 2-hour premiere of ABC’s Ugly Betty, the sitcom’s lead actress America Ferrera (who plays title character Betty Suarez), stopped by Good Morning America for a preview of the show. Not only did America talk about Betty’s personal fashion evolution – she also gave background on the premise of tonight’s show – the fashion shoot at the UN featuring Nothing But Nets! Check out the clip to get a sneak peek of what you’re in for tonight, then visit our Ugly Betty page for more information on the show!

Now on to the other piece of cool news – the November issue of Real Simple, the “life made easier every day” magazine, lists Nothing But Nets on page 16 under its monthly feature called “the simple list.” The author suggests our campaign as a more meaningful way to spend the $1,712 a pack-a-day cigarette smoker would spend in a year – why not send 170 life-saving nets instead? We couldn’t agree more – thanks for the mention, Real Simple

We’re so excited that people are spreading the word about the UN Foundation’s Nothing But Nets and how easy it is to help. Whether it is on TV talk shows or primetime, in magazines or by word of mouth, we’re just glad that so many people around the world are joining in the global effort to send nets and save lives.
