Malaria in the Media: July 2020

July 27 2020

Hi, I'm Mozzie the Mosquito!

I’ll be leading a new segment from Nothing But Nets – Malaria in the Media. Each month, I’ll compile the latest buzz in the malaria world and fly it straight to you.

Now I know what you’re thinking - why would a deadly anopheles mosquito like you spread awareness of the fight against malaria? Over the years, I’ve gotten a pretty bad rap from the Nothing But Nets team but deep down, my dream is that one day humans and mosquitoes can coexist without the threat of malaria.

....or it could be that I’m actually a double agent looking to climb the ranks at Nothing But Nets and sabotage the tremendous progress they’ve made against malaria.

I guess you’ll have to stay tuned to find out!

Malaria 'completely stopped' by microbe

by BBC

Scientists have discovered a microbe that completely protects mosquitoes from being infected with malaria. That's all for this month! Check back in August for the latest buzz and click here to get this emailed directly to your inbox each month.
