Today is the first ever International Day of Charity. Last December, the UN General Assembly designated this day to raise awareness of the impact millions of people like you have had through humanitarian work around the world.
Over the years, many of you have helped us send millions of life-saving, insecticide-treated bed nets to protect families across Sub-Saharan Africa from deadly malaria. With your support and donations, we have been able to distribute nets in countries such as South Sudan, Tanzania and Ethiopia. We recently distributed 38,000 nets in the Nyarugusu Refugee Camp in Tanzania, a camp that hadn’t had a net distribution since 2009.
A donation of just $10 allows for the purchase, delivery and education of a bed net recipient on its proper use. Check out our priority countries and together, we can cover communities that need bed nets. And eventually cover the entire continent.
Send a net. Save a life.
Happy International Day of Charity!
