Every day we are amazed by the work of our champions and supporters, helping send millions of life-saving nets to families in sub-Saharan Africa to prevent malaria. It also doesn’t hurt when one of the NBA’s biggest stars pledges to donate three bed nets for every three-pointer he makes.
Coming off a successful first-time performance as a starter in the NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry continues to pledge his support for his Three for Three Challenge, donating three bed nets to Nothing But Nets for every three-pointer he stores in the 2013-2014 season. Lucky for us, Stephen is leading the NBA in three-pointers scored with 172 – that’s 516 bed nets! What’s more, the Golden State Warriors have also pledged to match every three-pointer he makes, donating three additional bed nets – totaling 1,032 nets so far this year to Nothing But Nets.
Last year, Stephen broke the NBA’s all-time record for most three-pointers made in a season, with 272. He honored his Three for Three Challenge and donated 816 nets, which he was able to hand deliver to refugees in Tanzania last summer.
As loyal supporters, you already know how much we love Stephen but don’t just take our word for it! It’s not every day that you hear President Barack Obama say that Stephen is the best shooter he’s ever seen. We couldn’t agree more, President Obama!
