Now, more than ever, people are looking for ways to make an impact. As the world continues to evolve and become increasingly interconnected, individuals are reinventing the ways that change can be made. And, at the forefront of that innovation is our newest partner, AdWap. Founded in 2016, AdWap’s mission is to change why people watch ads – for good. How they accomplish that mission is simple. They convert people’s time into money. AdWap is a center of connectivity that links users, advertisers, and charities. Together, they comprise the generous media platform that brings purpose to pesky ads.
This month, AdWap and Nothing But Nets launched a partnership, in an effort to combine forces with the ultimate end goal of protecting refugees from malaria.
Today, there are more than 50 million refugees and families displaced by violence around the world – and 60 percent of them live in areas where malaria is transmitted. Malaria is a major threat to refugees – it is a leading cause of illness and death in many African countries, including those where Nothing But Nets and our UN partners, UNICEF and the UN Refugee Agency, work.
AdWap’s founders, Matt, Michael, Sherrod, and Jack, were inspired by our long historical connection to Davidson College and Golden State Warriors star and NBA MVP Stephen Curry, Nothing But Nets champion. It is this connection combined with AdWap’s passion to defeat malaria that initially inspired AdWap to get involved. AdWap, which was founded in November 2016, has already had 26,5758 ad views, and donated nearly $8,000 to various charities.
This Spring, Nothing But Nets launched The P.L.E.D.G.E. to Protect refugee families from malaria. AdWap will save lives by joining The P.L.E.D.G.E. to Protect. Their creativity is living proof that anyone can make a difference to help us protect refugees from malaria.
