On Friday, October 24 – United Nations Day – nearly 200 faith leaders from the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church gathered to discuss one of the most important global health issues facing the world today: malaria. We had the pleasure of joining those faith leaders as this event was the final stop of the Nothing But Nets City Tour in Atlanta.
But it wasn’t just us! Several Nothing But Nets partners joined Bishop Watson and the North Georiga Conference for this event, including Nikki Teasley, a professional basketball player with the WNBA Atlanta Dream, Councilmember Kwanza Hall, and Bishop Thomas Bickerton, Nothing But Netsspokesperson with the United Methodist Church.
And with a call-to-action from Bishop Bickerton, over $2,100 was raised to save 2,100 lives!
The people of Atlanta truly came together last week – from athletes to schoolchildren, local government to business leaders, and the faith community to students. Thank you Atlanta such an incredible week! We’re looking forward to continuing to work with this community in the year to come.
