A delegation hosted by the United Nations Foundation has arrived in Mali, Africa, to represent Nothing But Nets and the Measles Initiative. In two days, Mali, on the west coast of Africa, will launch an integrated children’s health campaign targeting 2.8 million children under five, as well as postpartum women. In addition to life saving insecticide treated mosquito nets, these kids will receive immunizations for polio and measles, as well as Vitamin A and Albendazole for deworming.
Nothing But Nets and partners such as Malaria No More and the Canadian Red Cross have provided 2 million nets. Joining the delegation are Nothing But Nets partners from the WNBA, MLS, Exxon Mobil, and the United Methodist Church. They’re here to witness first hand how your 10 dollars have transitioned from a donation to a life saving tool in the hands of children all the way in Timbuktu
