A CEO, a Bishop, and a Basketball Player

September 22 2010

Yesterday I had the chance to join the audience for a unique panel with a CEO, a Bishop and a basketball player...all talking about the same thing: our progress toward ending malaria. Elizabeth Gore, Executive Director of Global Partnerships at the UN Foundation led the panel’s discussion with CEO Mikkel Vestergaard Frandsen, United Methodist Church Bishop Thomas Bickerton, and WNBA star Ruth Riley at the UN Week Digital Media Lounge in New York. The panel -- titled the Movement to End Malaria Deaths -- highlighted how the diversity of everyone involved in the movement against malaria is helping us make significant strides in preventing this disease. Each of the speakers echoed the need for partnership, collaboration, and commitment to reach our goal of ending malaria deaths by 2015. Thanks for joining the movement!
